ASTM B209 aluminum sheet is an industrial building material used in various industries depending on the material. It can be divided into two categories, non-painted products and painted products, according to the surface treatment method.
The industries used include aircraft structures, rivets, missile parts, truck wheels, packaging and insulation foil, heat exchangers, spacer frames, wing ribs, wing spars, etc.
ASTM B209 aluminum fabrication and heat treatment
Machinability ASTM B209 aluminum alloy can be machined in the annealed state. Oil lubricant is used to perform machining operations.
Welding ASTM B209 aluminum alloy can be welded using resistance welding method. Gas welding method is not suitable for welding this alloy. Arc welding method should also be avoided as it causes a decrease in the corrosion resistance of this alloy.
Forming ASTM B209 aluminum alloy can be formed in the annealed state. If any problems are encountered, it can be heated at 95 to 121°C (201 to 249°F).
Wrought ASTM B209 aluminum alloys are forged at 372 to 483°C (700 to 900°F).
Heat Treated 7075 aluminum alloys are annealed at (900°F) for 2 hours, then water quenched and precipitation hardened heat treated.
Cold Worked ASTM B209 aluminum alloys can be cold worked by conventional methods in the soft and annealed conditions.
Hot Worked ASTM B209 aluminum alloys can be hot worked at 122°C (250°F)
Hardened al7075 alloy can be hardened by precipitation heat treatment.
