API 5L X42 or L290 LSAW Welded Line Pipe
API 5L X42 is a carbon steel grade designed in different configurations. API 5L X42 Pipe is designed with a chemical composition of silicon, manganese, sulfur, vanadium, niobium, carbon, and titanium. The outstanding content embedded in the X42 Pipe gives them good tolerances and resistance. These pipes are designed in PSL 1 and PSL 2 types. API 5L X42 Psl2 is a high-strength grade that is designed possessing outstanding chemical and mechanical properties. The versatile Grade X42 PSL2 Spiral Pipe is produced by twisting metal strips spirally. These pipes showcase good pressure containment and resistance to reducing media. These pipes are The API 5L X42 PSL1 Pipe is designed in schedules ranging from SCH 10 to SCH 160 or XXS. They have threaded, beveled or plain tubing ends. The X42 Grade PSL1 Line Pipe is widely used in the transportation of oil and gas, petroleum at high pressures over long distances.
The pipes of the API 5L X42 grade are produced in seamless, welded, or erw types. API 5L X42 Seamless Pipe is the strongest pipe grade in this range. Designed without welds these pipes have the excellent load-bearing capacity and can easily hold volatile fluids and gases in the system. API 5L X42 PSL1 Welded Pipe is a cheaper alternative to the seamless grades. These pipes are available in custom lengths and sizes making them a good choice for different types of projects. The API 5L X42 ERW Pipe is produced by passing a high electric current through the piping grade. The best material is utilized to ensure that there are no cracks or leaks during the welding phase. X42 Pipe Material is designed with excellent mechanical properties.
Material properties are a minimum yield strength of 42,100 psi (290 MPa) and a minimum tensile strength of 60,200 psi (415 MPa). It is one grade higher than API 5L Grade B and is suitable for medium-strength applications.
X42 is commonly manufactured in Seamless, SSAW, LSAW, and ERW. Coatings and finishes are available to meet specific application requirements.
