About seamless pipe anticorrosion technical requirements


Generally used in chemical pipelines, oil pipelines, natural gas pipelines, water pipelines and other projects that require anti-corrosion treatment. Common anti-corrosion processes for seamless steel pipes mainly include 3PE anti-corrosion, epoxy coal tar anti-corrosion, epoxy resin anti-corrosion, IPN8710 anti-corrosion, cement mortar anti-corrosion technology, etc.

1. Why are seamless steel pipes anti-corrosion?
Seamless steel pipes are relatively high-grade steel pipes, and the price is also very expensive, but after all, the raw material is iron, and it will rust, which will affect the service life of the pipe. Therefore, the anticorrosion of seamless steel pipes should also be done before pipeline construction. A process of seamless steel pipe anticorrosion, mainly for 3PE anticorrosion or epoxy coal tar anticorrosion.

2. Anticorrosion process of seamless steel pipe
Steel pipe anticorrosion According to the requirements of the drawing, paint coal tar epoxy paint on the glass fiber cloth, and then paint the surface layer for anticorrosion.
Exterior wall construction process: pipe derusting→primer coating→first topcoat→second topcoat→glass fiber cloth→topcoat→topcoat;
Interior wall construction process: pipe rust removal → primer → first topcoat → second topcoat → third topcoat.

Three precautions for seamless steel pipe (casing) corrosion

1) Pipe rust removal
Grease, ash, rust and scale on the surface of the pipe must be removed before pouring. The quality standard of sand blasting and rust removal reaches Sa2.5 level.

2) Apply primer after derusting the surface of the pipeline, and the interval shall not exceed 8 hours. When applying the primer, the substrate must be dry. The primer should be painted evenly and completely, without caking or blistering, and it should not be painted within the range of 150-250mm at both ends of the pipe.

3) After the primer surface is dry, apply the top coat and wrap it with glass fiber cloth. The time between primer and first top coat should not exceed 24 hours.
